John L. Tymoczko has been a Towsley Professor of Biology at Carleton College since the year 1976. He currently teaches the following subjects: biochemistry, the metabolic basis of human disease, oncogenes and the molecular biology of cancer, and exercise biochemistry. He is also the co-teacher of an introductory course called Oncology Flow in Biological Systems.

Lubert Stryer is the Winzer Professor of Cell Biology, Emeritus, at the Stanford University School of Medicine. He received the National Medal of Science from President Bush in 2007. He has an M.D. degree from the Harvard Medical School.
